About Erika & Cecilia

Erika & Cecilia (Erika Lindgren Liljenstolpe and Cecilia Österholm) play folk music in a duo format. Their interaction moves between being minimalistic fragile and highly explosive and suggestive where the energy flows like a glowing thread. The music is based on two acoustic instruments (violin and key fiddles) and Erika’s and Cecilia’s voices that complement and enrich each other, in traditional songs as well as in their own newly composed material.

Erika and Cecilia have toured both in Sweden and abroad and have participated in several of Europe’s largest folk- and world music festivals. They have also collaborated with Benny Andersson (ABBA) within the group Systerpolskan, initiated by him.
